Leaders in the Making

Find the Balance

Service

Leadership is about serving a greater good or common mission.  It is not about you. Are you ready to lead?

Courage

Leadership requires courage, confidence and common sense, in equal measures.

Respect

Respect and kindness go a long way in building relationships with your colleagues.

Say What You Mean

Say what you mean and mean what you say.  You will be judged by whether you are impeccable with your word.  That said, you have two ears and one mouth for a reason. Listen twice as much as you speak

Care

Take care of your people.  Always.

Much has been written about Millennials in the workplace. You know who you are; born between 1983 and 2000, you are the future of the world.  That shouldn’t shock you. You have been preparing for this moment since you started pre-school. You represent the largest share of the American workforce. According to a November 2017 study in accounting web.com, Millennials comprise 38% of the current workforce. Conservative estimates anticipate that you and your peers will by 75% of the workforce in less than ten years. Question: how prepared are you for the leadership roles you seek? Are you excited and enthusiastic about the future ahead? Or do you feel overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of work ahead of you? Maybe you don’t know yet.  Whatever you are feeling, you are not alone. And you’re certainly not alone in trying to figure out your path to success over the next 30-40 years depending on your retirement planning (hint, it’s not too early to start thinking about that).
